A word from the President:
Help keep the range clean and any equipment used in good order
Pickup your used brass and shells - except .22 caliber
Pickup your used paper and cardboard targets and place into the trash
Do not move the club's targets from one bay to another or to the rifle range |
Police Training: If police are training on the range, you must go directly to the officer in charge, show him your membership card and see if there is a free bay you can shoot on. Now and then, swat team training is going on. They will be running all over the place and it is not safe for you to be shooting.
Range Etiquette: Our sport is fantastic! It is among only a few which one may participate in regardless of physical stature or gender. We see world-class competitors in their early teens as well senior citizens. However, when we gather before, during and after a match, we must exhibit proper range etiquette. Please yield your full and undivided attention to the match directors once the shooters meeting is called to order, and be silent and attentive as the range rules are being read. During the match, once a shooter is given the “ load and make ready command” and until the “range is clear” command is given the only individuals that should speak are the RO’s, and if needed the shooter. This is to avoid confusion as well as distractions. The actual “quiet time”, being referred to is minimal. This message is not meant to reprimand anyone but is just a friendly reminder of what we all already know.
Message from PSGC Board: Someone has apparently complained to the California Department of Justice that gun control laws are being broken at the range, i.e., that illegal guns and magazines are being sold and that machine guns are being used. The Club has responded to the allegations with the facts, but we all know that facts don’t mean much to anti-gunners. Please make sure when buying or selling that you are following all state and federal laws. Deal with a licensed gun dealer.
Match Notices: Joe Burns, match director for the 3-Gun, would like to remind everyone to bring at least 20 shotgun slugs to each match. You should bring an assortment 00 to #6 since the plates sometimes won't fall with the lighter loads.
